EIE Graphics Customization Options

Release time:2026-04-02

  • In today’s high-end bicycle market, custom carbon fiber bike rims and personalization have become essential elements for premium wheelsets. Carbon fiber rims not only offer lightweight performance and high strength but also provide cyclists with endless possibilities for personalized bicycle wheels. Whether for racing or display, a unique pattern or logo can make your bike truly stand out. To meet the diverse needs of riders, EIE offers three popular carbon fiber rim customization options: water-slide decals, laser engraving, and stickers. All of these are applied to the rim sidewall, each with distinct advantages in appearance, durability, and cost. The following guide will help you choose the most suitable custom bike rim design.

    1) Water-slide Decals

This process uses the solubility of water-based adhesive. The waterproof-ink printed design is released from the backing paper when exposed to water, applied to the rim with a transparent carrier film, and sealed with clear coat. This method allows multi-color or gradient designs with a smooth surface and exquisite visual effects, making it ideal for high-end racing rims and personalized bicycle wheels.

The advantages of water-slide decals include durability, water resistance, and long-lasting performance. However, the process is complex—each color requires a separate printing plate—and professional application is necessary, making it more expensive and not easily removable. Therefore, water-slide decals are perfect for riders seeking custom carbon fiber rims with detailed, long-lasting designs.

EIE also provides free standard water-slide options: the wing shape EIE logo and the small EIE logo, with the wing shape as default.

Available colors include black, green, yellow, blue, pink, orange, gray, red, silver, white, and oil slick. Oil slick decals require an additional $20 per rim due to higher production cost.

For fully customized logos, email us your image along with your color preference or Pantone code, design size, and placement. Single-color custom decals start at $35, with final pricing based on complexity and number of colors. Production typically takes 7–10 days. Once a water-slide decal plate is created, a certain quantity will be produced. Unused decals have a limited shelf life: common decals can be stored for 2–3 months, while glossy decals last only 1–2 months. Therefore, if you order custom decals, we recommend placing your bulk order within the effective period as soon as possible to avoid waste.

It is important to note that whether using the EIE logo or a custom logo, black water-slide decals are glossy effect by default to ensure clear visibility on the rim, as shown in the comparison below. Other colors are made as common decals by default, and their effects vary depending on the rims’ finishes. Additionally, glossy decals are usually applied over the clear coat, while standard decals are applied under the clear coat. Due to the protection of the clear coat, common decals are more resistant to scratches than glossy ones. If you have special preferences, please inform us before confirming your order to avoid any errors.

    2) Laser Engraving

This process uses high-precision lasers to etch patterns or text onto the surface of carbon fiber rims without damaging the rim structure. Once applied, the design is permanent, wear- and water-resistant, and very stable, while providing a subtle high-tech and premium appearance.

The limitation is that laser engraving can only produce single-color designs (similar to gray), and the effect may vary depending on the rims’ finishes. The laser power must be carefully adjusted to achieve the best result. Once calibrated, the design is created in a single pass and cannot be altered, which makes the process more costly.

Standard graphics include the wing shape and small EIE logo, with the small logo engraved near the valve by default. Each rim charges  $5. Custom graphics are $15 per rim and can be used for brand logos, product information, or any complex patterns. The engraving process is fast and does not affect delivery time, making it suitable for riders and brands seeking professional and long-lasting rims.

    3) Stickers

This process uses PVC material with an adhesive backing to apply directly to the rim surface and is compatible with all rim finishes. The application is simple and can be easily removed. Stickers can be applied by us or by the rider after delivery.

The advantages of stickers are cost-effectiveness and flexibility, allowing riders to change designs frequently, which is especially suitable for short-term events or temporary styles. However, stickers are limited to single-color designs and cannot achieve multi-color or gradient effects. Over time, they may peel or scratch, and their wear and water resistance are lower than that of water-slide decals or laser engraving.

EIE currently offers stickers in regular colors with default designs including the wing shape EIE logo and the small EIE logo, with the wing shape as default. For custom designs, please email us the graphics and select a regular color (Pantone colors are not supported). Once the design is confirmed with you, the cutting process will be carried out. The process takes only 1–2 days. Pricing ranges from $5–$10 per rim depending on the size and complexity of the design.

Overall, each customization method has its strengths. Stickers are simple, flexible, and ideal for temporary designs. Water-slide decals are detailed, durable, and perfect for personalized graphics. Laser engraving is permanent, professional, and suitable for branding or anti-counterfeit purposes. EIE is committed to providing unique carbon fiber wheelsets, combining high performance with distinctive style.
