EIE Disc Brake Hubs Serial

Release time:2026-03-05

  • To build a lightweight and high-performance carbon wheelset, the hub plays a crucial role. Positioned at the center of the wheel, a high-quality carbon wheel hub connects the spokes and the bike frame, supports the rider’s weight, and transfers pedaling force from the cassette to the wheel. This ensures smooth rotation and directly affects riding efficiency, comfort, and overall wheelset performance.

We offer well-known hub brands, such as DT Swiss, Hope, Chris King, and Extralite. Their quality and durability are widely recognized, but the high price can be a concern for many riders. To provide more diverse and cost-effective options, our team has conducted extensive research and continuous development to produce our own lightweight carbon hubs. This article introduces our seven high-performance disc brake hubs, divided into two series: ER Series (road and gravel) and EM Series (MTB).

All seven hubs use a similar star ratchet system to DT350 and the ratchets and freehub body are compatible with DT350. They are lighter and more cost-effective while maintaining excellent reliability. Each hub shares the same internal construction, including the hub shell, axle, high-precision sealed bearings, wave spring, ratchets, end caps, and freehub body (rear hubs only). Standard hubs come with steel bearings, and ceramic bearing upgrades are available for even smoother rotation at an additional cost.

These hubs feature an innovative wave spring design, which reduces friction and vibration, prevents component movement, and delivers smoother and more precise power transfer during each ratchet engagement. They can be disassembled in seconds without tools, making maintenance convenient. End caps also allow easy conversion between 12mm and 15mm thru-axle hubs.

From 2026 onward, all EIE hubs are supplied with 60T ratchets, replacing the previous 36T standard. The higher engagement points provide faster pedal response, smoother operation, improved durability, and longer service life.

These hubs differ in materials, specifications, and intended riding applications, making them suitable for road, gravel, and mountain biking.

    1) ER Series — EIE Road / Gravel Hubs

    1. ER315 – 12×100mm / 12×142mm

The ER315 hub is precision-machined from 6061 aluminum alloy, offering high toughness and corrosion resistance. It is 35g lighter than DT350, providing a stable and comfortable riding experience on both paved roads and gravel surfaces. It is ideal for riders looking for reliable road and gravel hubs at a reasonable price.

    2. ER270 – 12×100mm / 12×142mm

The ER270 hub is made from aerospace-grade 7075 aluminum alloy, providing better wear resistance, higher hardness, and lower weight. Its price is slightly higher than the ER315. Comparable in weight to the DT Swiss 180, the ER270 performs reliably on road and gravel terrain, making it a preferred choice for riders who prioritize lightweight carbon wheel hubs and high performance.

    3. ERC290 & ERC300 – 12×100mm / 12×142mm

These hubs are designed specifically for carbon spoke wheelsets and made from 7075 aluminum alloy. The spoke hole diameter and flange spacing are optimized to create a compact and lightweight hub while maintaining excellent rolling performance. Both hubs are at least 50g lighter than DT350 hubs.

The main difference is the spoke count --- ERC290 is designed for 20 holes while ERC300 is 24 holes. Front ERC290 and rear ERC300 mixed configurations are supported. Additionally, the ERC300 flange is upgraded to support T-head carbon spokes, preventing spoke rotation when cycling and improving wheel stability.

Paired with ECSR3.2SL or ECST3.2SL carbon spokes and appropriate rims, the total road or gravel wheelset weight can be controlled under 1100g, making these hubs suitable for riders who value efficiency and handling precision.

    2) EM Series — EIE MTB Hubs

    1. EM300 & EM285 – 15×110mm / 12×148mm

Both hubs are manufactured from 7075 aluminum alloy and are lighter than DT240, balancing strength, weight, and durability. They provide smooth, direct power transfer during climbing, acceleration, and technical MTB trails. Featuring a robust hub structure and a star ratchet engagement system, the EM300 and EM285 ensure long-lasting reliability and confident pedaling in any terrain.

The main difference is the disc interface --- The EM300 is compatible with 6-Bolt disc rotors, while the EM285 supports Center Lock rotors, making it 15g lighter. These high-performance MTB hubs meet different customization needs and are ideal for riders seeking long-term stability and responsive off-road performance.

    2. EMC305 – 15×110mm / 12×148mm

The hub is designed for carbon spokes and made from 7075 aluminum alloy to build a lightweight, high-performance MTB wheelset. It delivers efficient power transfer and precise control on steep climbs and fast descents, ensuring agile and smooth riding.

In previous custom builds, the A29C27D20 UL rim (265g) was paired with ECSR3.2SL carbon spokes, successfully achieving a total weight of 937g without compromising rim strength. This setup meets the demands of high-end XC riders seeking extreme lightweight performance and speed.
