ANGLED HOLE DRILLING

The Angle of the spokes greatly affects the strengh of the whole wheels.That means it is very important to design the angle of spoke hole for the rims.However,there's a limited range of angles that you can design from.If you design the spoke Angle that does not match the hub Angle,this may result in difficult wheels build,difficult to adjust spoke tension or the spoke might be bent.

Anyway,all of EIE Carbon rims are drilled with a certain angle including axial direction and radial direction to reduces the stress of the nipple,rim and spoke interface.When we drilled angled holes,the spacing and angle of spole hole are calculated accurately to ensure that when the rim is connectd to the hub through spoke ,no additional pressure is generated around the rim hole.


You can customize the hole drilling pattern/type if you have a unique wheel build.We usually have following drilling patterns:

1.Standard hole type (External Hole):
Spoke hole diameter is 4.5mm,rim bead hole diameter is 7.5-8.0mm

2.Without Rim Bead Hole:

As is known to all,being truly tubeless,and in fact tubeless tape are no longer neccessary.The unique"No Holes On Rim Bead" wheels are easier and faster to handle in the tire mounting and installing,while avoiding possible quality issues with regard to tubeless tape in terms of sealing performance.

3.Hidden/Internal Nipple Hole

The diameter of spoke hole is 2.5mm,it comes with rim bead hole 7.5mm.

Our default/standard hole type is external hole.

If you need hidden hole or no rim bead holes options ,please select the options you needed.

All spoke type can be customized .Please contact us if you need any special orders.


4.Custom Valve Hole Dia.

We provide Presta valve hole as standard option,whose assembly hole diameter is 6.5mm.Of course,there are sometime having other valve hole diameter like Schrader valve hole ,which assembly hole is 8.0mm.If you have any special requirements for the valve hole diameter,please reach out to us for assistance.All the hole diameter are customizable.By the way,it is the most popular to have Presta valves on high-end mountain bikes or road bikes.
